I have been super busy working on a lot of projects.
I had the opportunity to chat with a young lady named Danielle Romero who recently discovered that her great grandmother was "passing". For those who are unfamiliar with the term "passing" Racial passing occurs when a person who is classified as a member of a racial group is accepted or perceived ("passes") as a member of another racial group. What a shock that was to her and her family to find out that they were actually Black! (well at least partly) And what an adjustment. She has a YouTube channel and is documenting her journey in a series called Finding Lola.
That got me to thinking about genealogy and the many secrets that are being uncovered through the wonders of technology and DNA research. Part of my plan was to post a series of videos on genealogy during Black History Month, which as you can see, I definitely missed!
Still going to interview Danielle but in the meantime I thought I would start with an interview with Robin Foster. Robin is an expert genealogist and has written several informative books and has a website (and Facebook Groups) to help people who are interested in genealogy research. She has definitely helped me in my own personal search (Stay Tuned - more on THAT later!!!)
